file is too large error

"File is too large for destination file system" error is because of the file system with which the pen drive is formatted.Windows allows partition in three types: NTFS, FAT32 and exFAT.The most commonly used file system is FAT32, it is the earliest technology used in exchanging data between computers and devices from 1980s. However, the limitation of FAT32 File System is that the maximum size for a file on this volume is 4GB minus 1 byte or ( 232−1 ) bytes.

So in order to get over this limitation, you will have to format flash drive in NTFS or exFAT file system.

NTFS file system allows files of size up to 16 TB on OS Windows 7 or earlier and 256 TB on Windows 8 OS while the latest introduced file system ( 2006) exFAT allows file size up to 16 EiB ( 1 Exbibyte = 260 bytes ).Both these file systems support the latest range of OS including Mac OS X and Linux Distros.

To format in NTFS or exFAT file system, just right click the pen drive and select Format. Before you start format, remember to select NTFS file system.
